            The Methodist New Connexion came from Great Britain. In 1841 they joined with the Canadian Wesleyan Methodist Church (the Ryanites) to form the Canadian Wesleyan Methodist New Connexion Church. It changed its name to the Methodist New Connexion Church of Canada in 1865. It was one of the union forming the Methodist Church of Canada in 1874.
